Evelyn Friesen

March 8, 1940 – March 2, 2026

Evelyn Lorraine Friesen nee Klassen was born in the Rheinfeldt district, near Hague on March 8, 1940, the 6th child to William and Alvina Klassen. She passed away March 2, 2026, having taken ill January 9, 2026.

She was 12 when her mother died, at age 41 in childbearing giving Evelyn 13 siblings older and younger, in total. She was 18 when she was married to Abraham Friesen (Abe Eddy), baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ when she was 30, and she became a widow when she was 49 having lost her husband suddenly and tragically.

After marriage in 1958 she lived at Dunblaine, Hughtan, and Elrose, before settling the rest of her life in various addresses throughout Saskatoon.

She is predeceased by her husband in 1990, siblings, and a grandson, Kevin James Fiddler in 2011. She leaves to mourn her passing children Wanda Grace (Don) Pollock, Saskatoon, Gloria Faith Friesen, Salmo, BC, Sarah May Friesen, Edmonton, AB, Violet Alvina Roufosse, Saskatoon and Rebecca Anne Friesen of Saskatoon; along with her 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Also, siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also adopted as mom and grandma to many close family friends through her many years and will be missed greatly by so many. She’s gone on to meet her rewards having served as a Christian believing to be raised up anew and in her desires, to being reunited to her loved ones waiting beyond the veil.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Gruenthal Church.
