He took up the violin later in life, learning and practicing intensively. He enjoyed making friends, having ‘jam sessions’, and performing with musical groups in Regina, including the Heritage Fiddlers and the Friendly Folk.
Ron gave much of his time to volunteering and public service during his years living in Estevan, as a Boy Scout leader and a member and chair of the local school board for many years. Throughout his life, he loved a project and was always quick to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbours.
